Arborcare-Arborscape, Inc. 2015
Boxelder bugs are a common nuisance insect to many homeowners. They are primarily found on boxelder trees, as well as maple and ash trees. The adults are 12.5 millimeters (0.49 in) long with dark brown or black coloration, relieved by red wing veins and markings on the abdomen: nymphs are bright red. They are not known to cause significant damage and are not considered to be agricultural pests.
Adults are commonly found on and in buildings and especially on the southern exposure.
We offer foundation sprays to prevent boxelder bugs, spiders, ants and other pest insects from entering into your home or business. We can spray under eves, decks, stairwells and door frames where webs are present and insects gather.
Additionally, we can spray your boxelder trees to help control the populations in your yard.
