Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 4, 2026 · Last updated: September 4, 2026
Arborcare-Arborscape, Inc. (“Arborcare-Arborscape,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) cares for trees in the Salt Lake Valley, and we take the same practical approach to your personal information that we take to your property: collect only what the job requires, handle it carefully, and tell you plainly what we’re doing.
This policy explains what we collect when you visit this website, request an estimate, or pay a bill, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you fill out our free estimate request form, you give us your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property you’d like us to look at, and whatever you tell us about your trees. If you call, text, or email us instead, we keep that correspondence and the contact details that come with it.
Once you become a customer, we also keep the ordinary records a tree care company keeps: service history for your property, notes and diagnoses from our arborists, photos of the trees we treat, scheduling details, and invoices.
We use this information to answer you, schedule and perform the work, keep records of what was done and when, bill you, and follow up about your trees. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours collects some technical information on its own when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, screen size, the pages you view, how long you stay, what you click, and the site or search that sent you here. Our web host also keeps standard server logs for security and troubleshooting.
Analytics and session measurement
We use two analytics services to understand how people find and use this site so we can make it more useful. Both set cookies in your browser and send information to their providers.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit, which pages and services they look at, roughly where they are (city or region level, derived from IP address), what device they use, how they arrived, and which visits end in an estimate request or a call. It sets cookies beginning with _ga to distinguish one visitor from another. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your full IP address; the address is used in transit to derive approximate location and is then discarded.
We use this data in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we have not enabled Google’s advertising features or audience sharing. Google processes this data as our service provider under its own terms. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with the pages themselves. It captures mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps, and page navigation, and reconstructs them as anonymized session recordings and heatmaps. We watch these to find pages that confuse people, buttons nobody can find, and forms that people abandon partway through.
Clarity masks text you type into form fields by default, so the recordings show that you filled in a field without showing what you typed. It does not capture your keystrokes as text. Clarity also collects the same general technical information described above, and it sets its own cookies (including _clck and _clsk) to recognize a returning browser.
Microsoft is the controller of the data Clarity collects and may use it for its own purposes, including improving its products and services and, in some cases, advertising. Microsoft explains this in its privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement, which also describes the controls Microsoft offers you.
Payments
We accept payment by check, in person, over the phone, and online.
Online payments do not happen on this website. The “Make a Payment” link takes you to our billing provider’s secure customer portal, hosted at app.jackrabbitconnect.com, on a separate site we do not operate. Your card or bank account number is entered there and travels directly to the payment processor. It never passes through this website, and we never see or store your full card number, CVV, or bank account number.
What our own records show is the transaction, not the instrument: the amount, the date, the invoice or account it applied to, the billing name and address, whether it cleared, and at most the card brand and last four digits so we can match a payment to an account. When you pay us by phone, we enter the card into that same processor and do not write the number down or keep it. We keep payment records because tax, accounting, and warranty obligations require it.
The portal is operated by a third party and is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy and terms once you leave our site. If you set up autopay or store a card on file, that card is stored by the payment processor, not by us, and you can remove it through the portal or by calling our office.
Cookies and how to control them
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This site uses three kinds:
- Necessary cookiesMake the site work — keeping a form submission from being processed twice, for example, or keeping site administrators logged in.
- Analytics cookiesSet by Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, described above.
- Third-party cookiesSet by content embedded from other services, such as a map or a video. Embedded content behaves as though you had visited that other site directly, and those providers may set their own cookies and track your interaction with the embed.
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most let you block third-party cookies specifically; look under Settings for Privacy. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect anything you can do on this site. Blocking necessary cookies may break parts of it.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers send “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals inconsistently, and there is no common standard for honoring them, so this site does not currently respond to them. Since we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing for such a signal to opt you out of. You can still opt out of analytics using the browser controls and links described above.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with companies that perform services for us, and only as much as they need to do the job:
- Our web hostStores this site and its server logs.
- Our email providerDelivers form notifications and our correspondence with you.
- Google and MicrosoftFor the analytics described above.
- Our billing and payment providersProcess payments and maintain your account.
- Our accountantFor the financial records any business must keep.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order, or a government request — or when we need to establish or defend a legal claim, investigate fraud, or protect the safety of a person or property. If our business is ever sold or merged, customer records would transfer with it, and this policy would continue to apply to information collected before the transfer.
Some of these providers, including Google and Microsoft, operate servers outside Utah and outside the United States, so information may be processed elsewhere.
How long we keep information
- Estimate requests that don’t become jobsAbout two years, so we recognize you if you come back.
- Customer service recordsFor as long as you are a customer and about seven years after, because tree care is a long-horizon business and last decade’s diagnosis often explains this year’s problem.
- Payment and invoice recordsAt least seven years, as tax and accounting rules require.
- Analytics dataGoogle Analytics 4 event data is retained for 14 months. Microsoft Clarity recordings are retained by Microsoft for a limited period under its own schedule, generally about 30 days.
- Server logsA short rolling window, typically weeks.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and payment card data is handled by PCI-compliant processors rather than by us. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee that information sent over the internet is safe from every risk, but we treat your information the way we’d want ours treated.
Your choices and rights
Whether or not a particular privacy law applies to a company our size, we’ll honor these requests from anyone who makes one:
- AccessAsk what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- CorrectionAsk us to fix information that’s wrong.
- DeletionAsk us to delete what we hold, except records we’re required to keep for tax, accounting, warranty, or legal reasons.
- Opt out of marketingUnsubscribe from any email we send, or just tell us to stop.
Email info@arborcare-arborscape.com or call (801) 972-TREE (8733). We’ll respond within 45 days, and we may need to verify who you are before we act — usually by confirming details already on your account. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging tree care for their property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to places we don’t control — our payment portal, review sites, industry and university references in our insect and disease library, and similar resources. Once you follow one of those links, this policy no longer governs what happens; the other site’s does.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be noted plainly rather than buried.
